Flying to Lake Don Pedro in Legal Eagle Ultralight

Legal Eagle Ultralight to Lake Don Pedro

Over one arm of Lake Don Pedro.
Looking back over right side. Shot with hand held Gopro Hero 2 set at 1080-30 fps.  I used 3 gopro cameras for this video.  The two on chase cam are Gopro Hero 3, Black Edition set at 1080-60 fps and 12mp.  All set at wide angle.  I use the H2, mounted on cord around my neck, to take pictures from various points, views, what ever is of interest the other cameras are not pointed at.  I try to hold camera as still as possible, brace against me or hold still,  never brace against machine because it picks up vibrations from engine. Try to get 20 or so seconds in each shot so they can be edited down to 6 to 8 seconds of good video.

There is a cowboy on horseback riding fence line in this view.

Saturday afternoon flight to Lake Don Pedro to check water levels.  It has filled up some since last viewing but has a long way to go. Lover Flying the Legal Eagle XL. It was cold, for this part of California, in upper 40's. Flew from Oakdale up towards Chinese Camp then turned south and east towards lake Don Pedro.  Town of La Grange is know for it Rodeo, along with Oakdale and it's rodeo.  If you go to many rodeo's you will hear names of cowboys from Oakdale and La Grange.

Legal Eagle Flying in cold weather

Been out of town,  in the mid-west for a couple weeks where it gets real cold. Makes me realize how lucky I am to fly in California. a 40 degree day here is nothing like what a 40 degree day there can be.I got to go flying on December 6th, a cool but calm day, Central Valley is starting to turn Green.

Fun Fly Zone Air Venture 2014 Experimenter Magazine pictures

Just was looking at the October 2014 Experimenter Magazine and found this, we made it into the picture section of the Fun Fly Zone 2014.  It was a great time and really enjoyed it.

Two Legal Eagle Ultralights to fly

Sunday was a beautiful day, sort of hazy but very smooth and in the evening about 1 hour before sunset got to fly both Eagles.  The Yellow one has fuel tank in wing and is much more stable, for stable fans, than the red. Hands off flying shows above 2950 nose comes up slightly and it wants to climb and below 2900 the nose lowers.  Still a little rigging to do because hands off requires a tiny bit of left rudder or it rolls right.  The long wings work much better with the end plates not installed.

Flying with no specific point in mind.

I love to fly the Legal Eagle Ultralight, designed by Leonard Milholland.  It is a great flying machine, best described as a slow Cub.  Flies and handles like a standard light airplane.  The pictures are a scattering of some of my flying this year.
